Staying Connected While Separated
On Monday, my Dad, Joe, celebrated his 88th birthday! He lives about 4 hours away in Greeneville, TN. My husband and I had planned to be there to celebrate with him, but ensuring his health and safety during Covid-19 was more important than our making the trip. Happily, he lives in an apartment at my sister, Barbara's, home. So, he was able to enjoy dinner with her and her family – outside in very chilly weather with six feet of separation, of course! It brought me so much joy to see this photo and speak with him on his special day.
So I personally know this can be a difficult time for many families who are separated by distance and by Covid-19. If you need help locating helpful resources for an older adult, the Regional Area Agencies on Aging, located in every state, can help. You can find the Area on Aging for any location by calling the Administration for Community Living at 1-800-677-1116.
And remember, Alamance ElderCare is just a phone call away at (336) 538-8080.
